At Beyond Horizons Institute, we make delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award simple, supported and genuinely life-changing – without adding pressure to school staff.
We partner with schools to give students access to structured, safe and inspiring outdoor education experiences that build confidence, resilience and engagement with learning.
Schools simply provide preferred dates.
We take care of everything else.

How the Partnership Works
We have designed our model to be completely seamless for schools.
Your school only needs to:
- Promote Us and Advocate for Us
- Identify any blackout/no-go dates
- Nominate preferred dates for the Adventurous Journey aspects (overnight and multiday camping journeys)
Your staff are not required to supervise, coordinate, manage or administer the program
Unless they would like to be involved – we have volunteering positions available for anyone interested.
We take care of:
- Student Registration and Enrolment
- Transport, Equipment and Logistics
- Provide Qualified, Experienced Outdoor Leaders
- Parent Communication and Information Sessions
- Options for Training, Practice and Qualifying Journeys
- Organisation and Planning of all Adventurous Journeys
- Risk Management, Safety Documentation and Compliance
- All Duke of Edinburgh Award mentoring and support including student check-ins and progress tracking
- Assistance and Partnerships with Community Volunteering, Skills and Physical Recreation (as part of the Duke of Ed framework)
